There’s nothing more I love than a good wedding day timeline. No matter how big or small your event, a timeline is really important in making sure the order and timings of your day run as smoothly as possible. A typical wedding day timeline will include things like hair and makeup, arrival and departure times of suppliers, set up, ceremony, drinks reception etc. However, there are some elements most couples tend to forget, but should really include in their timeline. Read on for some of my pro tips...
Feed Your Bridal Party
We’ve all heard it over and over again that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Your wedding is going to be an all day event, and your bridesmaids and groomsmen, are just some of your key players on the day. Make sure you feed them and consider putting on a small spread of food and drinks for them.
If you know a certain element of your wedding day could possibly overrun (i.e. hair and make up, speeches etc.) I would always advise factoring in some ‘buffer’ time of around 30 minutes to 1 hour. It will save you having to rush or cut things short, and if there is no need for you to use this time, it will actually give you and your guests more time to enjoy the party (which is always a bonus)!
Your ceremony and reception may not be in the same location. Whether your guests make their own way to your reception venue or you have arranged transport for them, think about how long it will take them to get there. Factors that usually affect this include the time of day they will be travelling, the route, and area. If you’re wedding is in the heart of a city it could take a little longer for you and your guests to the reception, especially when you take into account afternoon traffic.
